Production Planner for a leading manufacturer located in Springfield, OH area.



Job Summary
Works in the materials organization and performs daily organizing and tracking of production jobs. He/she is trained to work with manufacturing reporting systems. Responsibilities include, but not limited to planning, scheduling and preparation of work order details related to the procurement of various materials, subcontract assembly, and piece part assemblies used in the manufacture of electronic and lighting products. Responsible for key metrics such as inventory turns and on time delivery.


Required Skills
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and quality are required. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication. Superior interpersonal skills are required to enable effective interaction with peers while working in a “Team” environment. Flexibility in working with a diverse internal and external customer base and a variety of assignments is a key requirement. This position provides planning support for a broad assortment of products.

Technical Skills:

  • Production Scheduling
  • MRP Systems
  • Capacity planning, (level loading, Kanban, etc)
  • MS Excel , MS Project (preferred)


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED is required (will be verified.) BS degree in Business, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of inventory and production planner experience with BS degree; minimum of 10 years of inventory and production planner experience without degree.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing, procurement, quality basics, engineering flows, and reading prints
  • APICS certification preferred
  • Experience creating production schedules capacity planning, and working with MRP systems
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Experience modifying production schedules for increased efficiency


Other

  • Work hours are 8:00am-5:00pm daily. Some overtime may be required.
  • Compensation to be determined based on skills and previous relevant experience.
